How Did My Child Contract Lice?

Lice are spread from head to head contact. This includes sharing hats, hugs, brushes, and hair accessories. A lice infestation occurs when ONE pregnant female latches on to your child’s hair. Within 24 hours she will start to lay roughly 3 to 10 eggs a day, and symptoms usually go unnoticed for about a week. Once you start spotting the “white things” or your child begins complaining and scratching his/her head it is usually too late.
Do not wait until you can “see” them. It is important to comb (with a proper lice comb) regularly in order to catch and stop infestations. If you are suspicious, or know that your child has been exposed to lice, COMB!
