The Changing School Rules

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) has deemed lice a ‘nuisance’ but NOT a health hazard.
Since adopting a ‘Leave the Child in School’ policy, many schools have dismissed performing ‘head checks’ and releasing ‘lice letters’ warning parents of an outbreak. Students who have contracted lice have since been allowed to remain in school, even if lice or nits are apparent.
As The Lice Duchess, I agree that lice should NOT be deemed a health hazard.
However, before you get your pretty little knickers in a twist, I do believe this policy fails in regards to properly providing parents with a fast and effective solution to this epidemic. Chemical shampoos are NOT the answer, yet they seem to be the only option suggested to parents!
Naughty! Naughty! Naughty!
Lice have built a resistance to most chemical shampoos, and those that do kill live lice, typically do not kill lice eggs. Then of course there is the matter with the horrid little combs that accompany the shampoo. Many are inefficient, time consuming, and often times parents spend hours meticulously removing the eggs, only to have the infestation reoccur a week or so later. I have met parents who have had to repeat, repeat and repeat this process because…what other recourse do they have?
Until now…
